RATINGS

95+ Vinous / IWC

...with more fruit slightly friendlier tannins, both of which make it a real pleasure to taste... All of the savory and mineral character that makes Farella such a distinctive site runs through this vivid, super-expressive Cabernet...

95Wine Enthusiast

Dusty mineral components ride beneath a core of black currant and olive, the tannin and oak profile measured and well-integrated, leaving ample room for classic elegance and structure to speak.

94James Suckling

The deep and complex nose, which is full of savory, ripe-plum and wet-earth aromas, makes this cabernet stand out in the Napa pack. Then the rich, but finely nuanced palate slowly opens up its spicy secrets.

94CellarTracker

93+ The Wine Advocate

...intensely scented of crushed red and black currants, warm black plums and fresh blackberries with touches of violets, wild thyme, cigar box and cardamom plus a waft of dark chocolate.

93Decanter Magazine (points)

This savoury wine explodes with soft red berries and hints of rosemary and incense, rounded out with a freshly shaved pencil aroma and velvety tannins. Elegant and finessed.

90Wine Spectator

...mix of sage, rosemary and menthol notes amidst a core of steeped currant and bitter plum fruit flavors. Roasted cedar and fresh tobacco leaf details score the finish...

REGION

United States, California, Napa Valley, Coombsville

Coombsville AVA is one of Napa Valley’s newer appellations, having received its official designation only in 2011. Tucked just to the northeast of Los Carneros and a few minutes’ drive east of downtown Napa, the Coombsville appellation is relatively large at a total of 11,000 acres. The elevation varies from 100 to 1,000 feet, and the climate is moderated by marine breezes from the San Pablo Bay. The main grape varieties here are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Syrah and Pinot Noir.

TYPE

Red Wine, Cabernet Sauvignon

One of the most widely grown grape varieties, it can be found in nearly every wine growing region. A cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. It’s a hardy vine that produces a full-bodied wine with high tannins and great aging potential.
