A big, ripe style that’s rough hewn and chunky, yet deep and concentrated, with flashy plum, red and black cherry, red licorice and mineral notes, with a touch of green olive and espresso. Fullbodied, focused, complex and persistent.
Deep garnet in color, the 2007 Family Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is redolent of crème de cassis, preserved plums, Christmas cake and blackberry pie with hints of Indian spices, incense and camphor. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is packed with spiced black fruit preserves flavors, supported by a firm frame of rounded tannins and great freshness, finishing with epic length.
Bright, deep red-ruby. Lively aromas of cherry and tobacco lifted by a floral quality; higher-pitched than the basic 2006 cabernet. Then juicy, dry and tightly wound on the palate, with a distinctly weightless quality to the cherry, floral and mineral flavors. Plenty of tannic spine here for aging...
