RATINGS

96The Wine Advocate

...intense, fragrant perfume of warm cranberries, redcurrant jelly and fresh raspberries with hints of cinnamon stick, wild sage, underbrush and damp soil plus a waft of candied violets. Medium to full-bodied, the palate bursts with vivacity and freshness, offering layers of red berry and earthy flavors and a very finely grained texture, finishing long and perfumed.

96Jeb Dunnuck

Classic notes of kirsch, blueberries, incense, candied violets, and kisses of cola and cedary spice all flow to a medium to full-bodied, beautifully balanced Pinot Noir that has fine tannins and integrated acidity.

94Vinous / IWC

...super elegant and polished,... Expressive floral and savory notes give the 2017 lovely aromatic intensity, and impression that is reinforced by the wine's silky overall feel. There is no shortage of fruit intensity, but what impresses most about the 2017 is its overall balance and poise.

REGION

United States, California, Sonoma, Sonoma Coast

Sonoma Coast AVA runs from San Pablo Bay in the south to Mendocino County in the north. It includes 7,000 vineyard acres and earned AVA status in 1987. Its proximity to the Pacific Ocean means it gets double the rainfall of nearby inland appellations and the ocean gives the appellation a relatively cool climate. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir can thrive in these conditions, and there are numerous producers making critically acclaimed Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
