Erewhon is an anagram for “nowhere” and a tribute to the remote and isolated New Zealand vineyards where its grapes are hand-harvested. The wine is 100% Pinot Noir, made from the best fruit of Waipara and Central Otago. The winemaker, CP Lin, was born in Taiwan and has been blind since the age of two. His lack of sight has never slowed his ambition or talent. He has made a name for himself working around Europe, the U.S, Australia and New Zealand for the last 18 years. With 430 cases of the prized 2013 vintage, he is poised to send his “nowhere” to everywhere.
This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
