RATINGS

95James Suckling

A great pinot noir that shows dried flowers, violets and orchids. Cherry and raspberry undertones, too. Medium to full body with an incredible polished texture. Ripe and round tannins and a fresh and vibrant finish.

92Wine Enthusiast

This delicious wine shows focused black cherry, cola, cream soda and baking spice flavors. It's perfectly balanced, with all components in proportion and settled nicely together.

91Wine Spectator

Vibrant and harmonious, with floral raspberry and savory sassafras flavors that glide along a gentle but structured finish.

91Vinous / IWC

Fresh cherry and raspberry on the nose, complicated by candied rose, licorice and musky earth flourishes. Juicy, finely etched red berry and bitter cherry flavors... Closes on a bright, spicy note, with sneaky tannins lending framework and grip.

90The Wine Advocate

...notes of black cherries and black raspberries... Medium-bodied, with lovely elegance and expression in the mouth, it has a fine backbone of silky tannins and plenty of latent layers just poking through on the persistent finish.

16.5+ Jancis Robinson

Lovely cherry and redcurrant fruit with just enough tannic fur to give fuzzy texture but allow drinkability now.

REGION

United States, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills

Dundee Hills AVA is in Yamhill County, and it is entirely contained within the Willamette Valley AVA, Oregon’s best known appellation. Dundee Hills is about 30 miles southwest of Portland, and has 1,300 vineyard acres. It was awarded AVA status in 2004 and, like much of Oregon, is known for Pinot Noir. Several of Oregon’s 20th century wine pioneers established their vineyards and wineries in Dundee Hills, adding to its status as a region long-recognized for producing high quality, iconic Oregon wines. Eyrie Vineyards, Erath Winery and Sokol Blosser remain some of Oregon’s most celebrated producers, and all were founded in what is now Dundee Hills in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
