RATINGS

94Wine Spectator

Luscious, rich and creamy, with ripe and concentrated flavors of peach, apricot, grapefruit, smoke and spice.

94Vinous / IWC

Aeration brings ripe apricot, peach and pineapple fruit aromas laced with delicate blossom honey. Full-bodied and firm, with mouthfilling flavors of sweet peach, apricot and lavender honey enlivened by vibrant acidity.

91The Wine Advocate

Scents and flavors of tropical fruits, caramelized peach and yellow plum, malt, and honey predominating in another voluminous, ester-rich display of ripeness typical for this vintage.

PRODUCER

Prager

Prager is in Austria’s Wachau valley. It is owned and operated by Ilse and Toni Bodenstein. Ilse inherited the estate from her father and she and her husband produce Riesling and Gruner Veltliner. Robert M. Parker Jr. has been awarded the wines scores in the 90s and notes that Toni Bodenstein has taken the winery “to the outer limits of complexity achievable in dry Riesling.”

TYPE

White Wine, Riesling, Smaragd

This white variety originated in Germany. It’s known for its strong flowery aromas and high acidity. Please note Rieslings can have dramatic differences as the grape can be used to make dry, semi-sweet, sweet and sparkling wines.
