RATINGS

**IWC - David Schildknecht

Mint and candied blackcurrant in the nose, showing the sauvignon-like side of scheurebe. Lime, mint, cassis, pink grapefruit and peach rush across the palate in a riot of ripeness...

94The Wine Advocate

This is a succulent, powerful, extroverted wine with a wild streak. Its medium-bodied, velvety-textured character reveals a sumptuous, exceptionally long finish.

PRODUCER

Müller-Catoir

Muller-Catoir is a 50-acre winery in Pfalz, in Germany’s southwestern corner. It is owned and operated by the Catoir family. The estate manager is Martin Franzen, a noted young German winemaker. The estate is planted to 60% Riesling, with the remainder planted to other white German varietals. About 130,000 bottles are produced annually. Robert M. Parker Jr. has praised the estate, writing that “anyone who doubts the potential of Rieslaner or Scheurebe has only to taste samples that have long issued, and continue to issue, from this cellar.”
