This specially created Premiere Reserve 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon was blended from grapes from four Corison vineyards on the bench between Rutherford and St. Helena. Only 60 bottles of the cuvée were made, and it includes grapes from Cathy Corison’s Kronos Vineyard, a historic plot that holds some of the oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vines in the valley. Cathy Corison, one of Napa’s most admired winemakers, honed her skills at Chappellet Vineyard and Staglin Family Vineyard, among others, before starting her own winery. Corison’s wines are sustainably produced and known for balance and grace. Here is Corison describing her winemaking philosophy: “Great grapes make great wine. Pick ripe grapes from a terrific, balanced vineyard and let Mother Nature do the rest. My goal is to make Cabernet that is both powerful and elegant, graces the table, enjoys a long, distinguished life and speaks of place.”
