Estimate
Ripe, with an earthy cast to the black cherry, black currant and sweet spice flavors. Rich and pliable in texture, this is harmonious, building to a lingering, mouthwatering finish.
The full, earthy and smoky nose with nice cherries and floral nuances, draws you into this generous Gevrey-Chambertin that has a solid tannic base.
It has an attractive bouquet of raspberry, cranberry and wet limestone aromas. The palate is a little chewy on the entry, but there is good acidity and plenty of crunchy red berry fruit. The correct, short but focused finish is quite Morey-like in style.
Subtle red fruits, light but scented. There’s more finesse than substance here but that’s not a bad thing, and the length is surprising.
