RATINGS

95The Wine Advocate

...marvelously linear, textured & just plain beautiful. All of the elements come together in this striking, impeccable wine...blossoms on the palate with extraordinary finesse in its fruit, fabulous overall balance and terrific freshness...

93Stephen Tanzer

A step up in intensity and structure from the Bienvenue, with stone fruit and mineral flavors enlivened by bright lemony acidity. Youthfully imploded wine with terrific steely cut.

91-94Burghound.com

The suave and seductively textured flavors are quite expansive with excellent richness...

17.5Jancis Robinson

...marvellous force on the palate, and great linear acid with a long, long mineral finish and delicious tangy citrus fruit.

France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet

Like its neighbor Le Montrachet, Batard-Montrachet also lies partly in the Chassagne-Montrachet appellation just to the south of Puligny-Montrachet. At 30 acres, Batard-Montrachet is the largest of four Grand Crus and it is divided into nearly 30 individually owned parcels. Located just to the east of Le Montrachet, the soil of Batard-Montrachet is deeper and less thin. The largest landholders are Leflaive, with 4.5 acres; Ramonet, 1.2 acres; Bachelet-Ramonet, 1.4 acres; and Paul Pernot, 1.5 acres.
