RATINGS

96Stephen Tanzer

Pale, bright yellow-green. Knockout nose combines ripe pineapple, dried fruits, lemon, lime, crushed stone, minerals and mint. A wine of outstanding intensity, power and thrust, with sappy mineral and toasted bread flavors...

95-96The Wine Advocate

With juicy lime; high-toned herbal essences including a hint of peppermint; fresh pit fruits; and a palpably chalky mineral dimension. Incredibly dense, yet shapely and not in the least heavy, this penetrates with uncanny grip...

95Burghound.com

..aromas of white flower, quinine, saline, minerals & seashore nuances that give way to rich & robust, indeed huge flavors that are perhaps a bit less refined than those of the Valmur or Preuses but there is another dimension here of depth.

18Jancis Robinson

Riper citrus on the nose, even a touch of honey despite the intense minerality of youth. Citrus with a little white pepper. Broader on the palate than les Preuses. Powerful, great clarity and extremely crisp on the finish...

France, Burgundy, Chablis, Les Clos

Les Clos is a 61-acre Grand Cru vineyard in the appellation of Chablis, at the northwestern tip of Burgundy. With rocky soil, good drainage, and a southerly orientation, the vineyard is generally the most acclaimed of the Chablis Grand Crus. The principal landholders are Fevre with 10.38 acres; J. Moreau, with 9.01 acres; and C. Moreau, with 9 acres. Other notable producers with parcels in Les Clos are Francois Raveneau, Louis Pinson, Joseph Drouhin and Rene Dauvissat. Like all the Chablis vineyards, it is planted exclusively to Chardonnay.

TYPE

White Wine, Chardonnay, Chablis Grand Cru

This white variety originated in Burgundy, but is now grown around the world. Its flexibility to thrive in many regions translates to wide flavor profile in the market. Chardonnay is commonly used in making Champagne and sparkling wines.
