RATINGS

95+ Jeb Dunnuck

...fresher, more edgy texture to go with a medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated style on the palate...beautiful notes of black raspberries, wild strawberries, violets, sappy herbs, and a touch of forest floor.

94The Wine Advocate

...classically styled with crunchy berry fruits and signature Pinot Noir bitterness. Cranberry sauce and crushed black cherries are accented by violet, burnt citrus, scorched earth and tobacco leaves...medium-bodied palate carries its appealing bitters-like flavor layers in a silky, fresh frame, and it finishes long and uplifted. What a lovely, super fresh expression this vintage.

94Wine Spectator

Refined and elegant, with a lithe, creamy texture to the dried red fruit and berry flavors, lengthening out with forest floor notes. The fine-grained, minerally finish shows leafy accents and hints of sandalwood.

94Vinous / IWC

...bold and sumptuous in the glass, with soft curves and pretty floral/savory overtones that add dimension...especially dark, powerful Pinot, but all the elements are wonderfully fused together. Spice, floral and earthy notes lead into the rich, potent finish.

REGION

United States, California, Sonoma, Sonoma Coast

Sonoma Coast AVA runs from San Pablo Bay in the south to Mendocino County in the north. It includes 7,000 vineyard acres and earned AVA status in 1987. Its proximity to the Pacific Ocean means it gets double the rainfall of nearby inland appellations and the ocean gives the appellation a relatively cool climate. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir can thrive in these conditions, and there are numerous producers making critically acclaimed Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
