RATINGS

99Robert M. Parker Jr.

It is vibrant, spiritual, and as complex a wine as I can imagine. It attacks the palate with waves of candied lemons, marzipan, creamed hazelnuts, pears, grilled oak, curry, red berries, and loads of minerals.

98Wine Spectator

A fantastic, traditional white Burgundy, with a slightly earthy note, fresh lemon and marvelous pear, tropical and honey.

96+ Stephen Tanzer

Vibrant grapefruit, lemon and mineral aromas give off a superripe whiff of dried peach. Painfully intense on the palate...

94Burghound.com

...stunningly pure green fruit and a very subtle trace of pain grillé leading to sweet, extremely precise and chiseled flavors that culminate in a gorgeously textured, pungently mineral, incredibly long, marginally austere finish...

REGION

France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, Côte de Beaune, Meursault, Les Perrieres

Les Perrieres is 34-acre Premier Cru vineyard in Meursault, in Burgundy’s Cote de Beaune. The vineyard includes several sub parcels. They are the 2.4-acre monopole Clos des Perrieres, which belongs to Domaine Albert Grivault, and Les Perrieres Dessous. Because Les Perrieres is in southern Meursault next to Puligny, the Les Perrieres Meursaults are considered to have more minerality than other Meursaults. Burgundy writer Clive Coates has noted that “Perrieres is perhaps the most elegant and persistent of the premier crus. At its best, it is positively brilliant…” Since Meursault lacks a Grand Cru, Meursault’s reputation for excellence is based on the Premier Crus, particularly the whites.

TYPE

White Wine, Chardonnay, 1er (Premier) Cru

This white variety originated in Burgundy, but is now grown around the world. Its flexibility to thrive in many regions translates to wide flavor profile in the market. Chardonnay is commonly used in making Champagne and sparkling wines.
