RATINGS

94James Suckling

Wonderful cool and herbal nose, with a ton of fruit... Ripe and concentrated...medium-weight. Long finish that’s brimming with yellow-apple and delicately earthy character. Very long, sophisticated finish.

93+ The Wine Advocate

...clear, fine and elegant, delicately smoky fruit. Quite rich on the palate...elegant, fresh and saline...dense but also quite persistent Veltliner with the freshness and clarity of a Riesling. It has good, quite taut and spicy length with savoriness.

92Wine Enthusiast

...well-delineated...offers hints of meringue, followed by melon and interesting acorn squash. The acidity keeps everything intact, as the hints of elderflower chime in at the midpalate. This is rounds up on a floral note, with an inviting finish.

16Jancis Robinson

Smoke and apricot aromas laced with lemon balm. Zesty, sprightly palate. Beyond the characteristic pepper kick, a somewhat soft finish.

TYPE

White Wine, Grüner Veltliner, Federspiel

This white grape is widely grown in Austria, Czech Republic and Slovakia. As a wine, it is food friendly and has beaten top Chardonnays in blind tastings. It compares to a white Burgundy in richness and texture, and offers an exotic alternative to Sauvignon Blanc.
