RATINGS

97The Wine Advocate

...energetic, detailed and seamless this vintage. Medium-ruby, it's deeply scented of cranberry sauce and rhubarb, with touches of apricot, blood orange and licorice. Silky and fresh, the palate offers powerful, layered fruits that linger with fine detail in the mouth.

97Jeb Dunnuck

More wild strawberry and raspberry fruits, as well as flowers and chalky minerality...balance is impeccable, and it has good acidity, notable structure, and one hell of a great finish.

94Vinous / IWC

...elegant, nuanced and vibrant. Lavender, spice, menthol and licorice lead into a core of blue/purplish berry fruit. This supple, engaging Pinot is an absolute delight to taste. All the elements are so well balanced.

91Wine Spectator

Well-structured, with cedary accents to the dark fruit and cooking spice flavors. The ripe and open-textured finish is dominated by loamy notes.

REGION

United States, California, Sonoma, Sonoma Coast

Sonoma Coast AVA runs from San Pablo Bay in the south to Mendocino County in the north. It includes 7,000 vineyard acres and earned AVA status in 1987. Its proximity to the Pacific Ocean means it gets double the rainfall of nearby inland appellations and the ocean gives the appellation a relatively cool climate. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir can thrive in these conditions, and there are numerous producers making critically acclaimed Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
