RATINGS

94The Wine Advocate

...displays great purity and coolish aromatics, but is incredibly intense and powerful in 2015, almost fat in its sheer concentration. Great finish, round and balanced.

93Vinous / IWC

Kiwi, white peach, quince and pineapple inform an effusive nose and dominate a plush, luscious, expansive, glossy midpalate, to which white pepper, hints of quinine bitterness and nutty piquancy lend welcome, invigorating counterpoint...enveloping finish takes on a honeyed sense of richness and comes off as faintly sweet...

92Wine Spectator

Lush and expressive, exhibiting apricot, peach and melon flavors accented by mineral notes, this white is intense, leaving a fruity aftertaste and a light chalky feel.

PRODUCER

Prager

Prager is in Austria’s Wachau valley. It is owned and operated by Ilse and Toni Bodenstein. Ilse inherited the estate from her father and she and her husband produce Riesling and Gruner Veltliner. Robert M. Parker Jr. has been awarded the wines scores in the 90s and notes that Toni Bodenstein has taken the winery “to the outer limits of complexity achievable in dry Riesling.”

TYPE

White Wine, Riesling, Smaragd

This white variety originated in Germany. It’s known for its strong flowery aromas and high acidity. Please note Rieslings can have dramatic differences as the grape can be used to make dry, semi-sweet, sweet and sparkling wines.
