RATINGS

96Jeb Dunnuck

...big, rich, powerful ...loaded with notions of cassis, smoked herbs, mint, and spicy aromas and flavors and is medium to full-bodied, with a stacked mid-palate as well as a great finish....terrific Pinot Noir...

95Vinous / IWC

...gorgeous. Bright, floral and wonderfully nuanced...fabulous wine... Silky tannins, pliant fruit and sweet, perfumed aromatics make for a captivating, wonderfully complete wine. Raspberry, blood orange, mint, hard candy, cherry liqueur, and cinnamon all shape a Pinot endowed with tremendous aromatic depth and layers of intensity.

93The Wine Advocate

...pomegranate, rhubarb and red licorice with notes of bay leaf, wet bark, citrus peel, woodsmoke and dried flowers plus wild blackberry hints. Medium-bodied, it's silky with intense, ripe fruits framed by softly grainy tannins and juicy freshness, finishing very long and spiced.

REGION

United States, California, Sonoma, Sonoma Coast

Sonoma Coast AVA runs from San Pablo Bay in the south to Mendocino County in the north. It includes 7,000 vineyard acres and earned AVA status in 1987. Its proximity to the Pacific Ocean means it gets double the rainfall of nearby inland appellations and the ocean gives the appellation a relatively cool climate. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir can thrive in these conditions, and there are numerous producers making critically acclaimed Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
