RATINGS

95James Suckling

A pinot that marries fresher notes of orange rind and wild-strawberry essence with tar, licorice and ivy. Medium to full body, plush yet crunchy fruit, layers of acidity and a fine, beautifully balanced finish. Pure class.

94Wine Enthusiast

Richness and depth meet vibrancy and precision in this multi-layered and multi-faceted wine. The aroma combines mild spices with gentle red fruits. Flavors go deeper to black cherry and cinnamon, while a broad, gentle texture with mild tannins seems to fill the mouth.

93Vinous / IWC

Pliant and supple on the palate, with striking freshness... The flavors are brisk and delineated throughout. Sweet red berry, cranberry, star anise, orange zest and cinnamon add perfume to this gracious mid-weight Pinot Noir.

90+ The Wine Advocate

...fragrant, floral nose of violets and lavender over notes of red cherries, kirsch and underbrush. Soft, elegant, fresh, and finely structured in the medium-bodied mouth, it gives good expression and persistence.

REGION

United States, California, Sonoma, Sonoma Coast

Sonoma Coast AVA runs from San Pablo Bay in the south to Mendocino County in the north. It includes 7,000 vineyard acres and earned AVA status in 1987. Its proximity to the Pacific Ocean means it gets double the rainfall of nearby inland appellations and the ocean gives the appellation a relatively cool climate. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir can thrive in these conditions, and there are numerous producers making critically acclaimed Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
