RATINGS

99Robert M. Parker Jr.

... full-bodied, with thrilling levels of extract and richness, but no sense of heaviness or harshness...possesses no hard edges...

97Stephen Tanzer

Knockout nose combines currant, Cuban tobacco, earth, tar, bacon fat, cedar, leather and game...offers extraordinary inner-mouth flavor and great depth. One of those rare wines that too big for the mouth.

94Wine Spectator

...earthy core of anise- and currant-tinged Cabernet flavors, it slowly unfolds to reveal notes of coffee and spice...

REGION

United States, California, Napa Valley, Yountville

Yountville AVA is just west of Stags Leap and north of Oak Knoll. It is centered around the town of Yountville, named for George Yountville, who planted the area’s first vineyard in 1836. The district received appellation status in 1999 and it includes 4,000 vineyard acres. It is known for tannic Cabernet Sauvignon that has a reputation for aging well. Dominus Estate, formerly Napanook Vineyard, is one of the most prestigious producers in Yountville, and in all of Napa Valley.
