Highly perfumed black and blue fruit aromas, along with hints of exotic spices, potpourri, olive and woodsmoke. Densely packed cassis, blueberry, spicecake and violet pastille flavors show excellent clarity and deepen slowly as the wine stretches out. Finishes long and smoky, with powerful violet and mineral qualities and well-knit tannins.
...touch of tarry/rubbery reduction on the nose, giving way to herbal notes and wonderful bacon fat, black olive and cracked black peppercorn aromas plus hints of dried violets. Medium to full-bodied with fresh black fruits in the mouth segueing into savory notions, it has very firm, fine-grained tannins and wonderful juicy acidity, finishing long and very minerally.
