RATINGS

92-94The Wine Advocate

The palate is supple on the entry with fine tannin, silky smooth in texture, very harmonious and nicely structured on the finish.

91-93Burghound.com

There is both good volume and muscle to the mineral-inflected big-bodied flavors that possess excellent power on the imposing and beautifully long finale. This beauty is built-to-age...

89-92Stephen Tanzer

Very rich, floral wine with captivating sweetness and serious but well-enrobed tannins.

17+ Jancis Robinson

Open-knit, expressive nose with earth, violet, cherry, herbs and forest floor - delicious.

REGION

France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanee, Aux Malconsorts

Aux Malconsorts is an 14.6-acre Premier Cru vineyard in the Vosne-Romanee appellation of Burgundy’s Cote de Nuits. It is on the appellation’s southern boundary with Nuits-Saints-Georges. The vineyard abuts La Tache, which is just to the north and has similar soil composition. Burgundy writer Clive Coates notes that Aux Malconsorts “can have flair, fat, finesse and a fine perfume.”

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir, 1er (Premier) Cru

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
