Nicely packed, with a mix of plum, boysenberry and mulberry compote flavors holding center stage, while licorice root, sweet bay leaf and violet accents swirl around the edges. The finish is carried by racy structure, underscored by a note of iron.
...black earth, tar and truffles scents giving way to a core of baked black currants, black cherry compote and blackberry preserves plus hints of cigars, sautéed herbs and iron ore. Full-bodied, firm and grainy, the palate is packed with earth-laced black fruits, finishing long and mineral laced.
Pointed and brilliant with terrific intensity...sizzles with the energy that is so typical of the best Mt. Veeder Cabernets. Inky dark fruit, graphite, mint, lavender and exotic spice give the 2018 its complex, multi-dimensional personality. What a wine!
