PRODUCER

Friedrich Becker

Friedrich Becker is a 35-acre estate in the southern part of the Pfalz region. It was founded in 1973 by Friedrich’s father and today Friedrich and his children run the estate. The estate is on the border with Alsace and about 60% of its vineyards are planted to Pinot Noir. Friedrich Becker also grow Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer and Merlot, among other varietals.

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
