RATINGS

93Wine Enthusiast

Richly oaked and savory, this concentrated and full-bodied wine from the family estate delivers flavors of dark fruits, graphite and crushed rocks. The tannins are abundant and palate coating, creating a structure perfect for richer cuts of meat and flavorful meals.

91James Suckling

Mulberries, currants, wild herbs, cedar and crushed peppercorns on the nose. Medium to full body with creamy tannins and texture. Round and lush with a flavorful, fruity finish.

16Jancis Robinson

Rich chocolate and black-plum nose – sweet aromas. Mouth-watering acidity on the palate with rounded tannins.

REGION

United States, California, Sonoma, Sonoma Coast

Sonoma Coast AVA runs from San Pablo Bay in the south to Mendocino County in the north. It includes 7,000 vineyard acres and earned AVA status in 1987. Its proximity to the Pacific Ocean means it gets double the rainfall of nearby inland appellations and the ocean gives the appellation a relatively cool climate. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir can thrive in these conditions, and there are numerous producers making critically acclaimed Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

TYPE

Red Wine, Cabernet Sauvignon

One of the most widely grown grape varieties, it can be found in nearly every wine growing region. A cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. It’s a hardy vine that produces a full-bodied wine with high tannins and great aging potential.
