RATINGS

92Burghound.com

...spicy and decidedly earthy aromas of violet, plum, dark currant and tea...There is good volume...a relatively refined mouth feel to the nicely delineated and vibrant flavors that possess excellent depth and persistence on the notably firm but not really austere finale... In a word, lovely.

91The Wine Advocate

...reveals notions of cassis, raspberries, raw cocoa and spices, followed by a medium-bodied, ample and nicely layered palate that's built around bright acids, good concentration and fine but firm tannins that assert themselves on the finish.

REGION

France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, Côte de Beaune, Beaune, Les Greves

Les Greves is a 75-acre Premier Cru vineyard in the central part of the Beaune appellation, in Burgundy's Cote de Beaune. Though Beaune has no Grand Cru vineyards, it has 44 vineyards that are either partly or completely Premier Cru. Clive Coates has written that in the central section of the Beaune appellation is “where you will find the finest examples of premier cru in Beaune.”

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir, 1er (Premier) Cru

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
