Alain Graillot is a 50-acre domain in Crozes-Hermitage. It was founded in 1985 by Alain Graillot, who also owns several small parcels in St. Joseph. Graillot makes red and white wines. Robert M. Parker Jr. has called Alain Graillot “one of the reference points for top-flight Crozes-Hermitages, as well as a small amount of St. Joseph…His top cuvee, La Guiraude, is a superb Crozes-Hermitage…”
This grape is grown in milder climates and produces a medium-to full-bodied wine. It is also known as Shiraz, but should not be confused with Petit Sirah, which was developed by crossing Syrah with Peloursin.
