Podere Poggio Scalette

Podere Poggio Scalete was established in 1991 when the husband and wife team of Vittorio Fiore and Adriana Assje di Marcora purchased several parcels of land, including vineyards, in Greve in Chianti. Prior to stating his own winery, Vittorio had been a consulting winemaker professor of oenology. His wife and adult sons work at the estate. Besides making wine, Podere Poggio Scalete also produces olive oil and grows grains. Vineyards account for 42 acres of the property. The estate makes Chianti Classico, a Super Tuscan called Capogatto, and a Sangiovese called Il Carbonaione.
