Casa Emma was for more than a century owned by a family in Florence with deep historic ties to the city and the region. The last member of that noble Florentine family to own it was Emma Bizzarri, so when the Bucalossi family bought the estate in 2000 they named it Casa Emma in honor of the seller. Today the 65-acre estate in Cortine primarily Sangiovese. Gambero Rosso says “the wines have an easily recognizable style: modern, mostly aged in barriques, uncompromising and expressing a personality that reflects the territory of origin.”
