Alfred Gratien

Alfred Gratien has been an Epernay Champagne estate since 1864. The estate remained in the family until 2000, when it was acquired by the German sparkling wine conglomerate Henkell & Co. Gruppe. Management of Alfred Gratien remains in the hands of the founder’s descendants, however, and the cellar master is now Nicolas Jaeger, the fourth generation to take the helm of the domaine. With five acres of vineyards, the estate produces 250,000 bottles annually. The estate’s Champagnes often earn ratings in the 90s and are notable for their elegance and finesse.
