RATINGS

93The Wine Advocate

Ripe, faintly caramelized peach, quince preserves, citrus zest, and brown spices dominate the nose and succulent, creamily-textured palate.

93Stephen Tanzer

Sexy aromas of white peach, honey and white flowers. Wonderfully pure and expressive already, with compelling sweetness to the flavors of stone fruits, spices and flowers. The wine's captivating glyceral quality is leavened by harmonious..

91Wine Spectator

Tightly wound and concentrated, sporting aromas and flavors of grapefruit, peach and spice. This is firmly structured and picks up mineral on the long finish.

90-92Burghound.com

...primary notes of lemon peel and rose petal with spiced pear nuances that can also be found on the pure, racy, intense and strikingly detailed medium-bodied flavors...

17.5Jancis Robinson

Richer, riper aromas, a note of honey even. Sweetly spiced citrus flavours and a touch of stone fruit.

PRODUCER

Domaine Leflaive

Domaine Leflaive, in Puligny-Montrachet, traces its roots back 2,000 years to vineyards planted during the Roman era. More specifically, the domaine was founded in the 1920s when Joseph Leflaive, an engineer by training, began replanting the family vineyards with improved grape vines. He sold wine to friends and later made it into a business. After his death in 1953 his children ran the estate. The business is still owned and managed by the Leflaive family and its white Burgundies are renowned for their quality. With 58 acres of vineyards planted entirely to Chardonnay, the domaine produces fewer than 4,000 cases of Montrachet annually. Since 1998 Domaine Leflaive has been farmed entirely according to biodynamic principles, which, among other things, means that no pesticides, chemicals or artificial fertilizers of any kind are used.
