RATINGS

95The Wine Advocate

...superbly, mingling aromas of citrus zest, clear honey, white flowers, wet stones, freshly baked bread and iodine in a classically Chablisien bouquet. Medium to full-bodied, deep and chalky, with prodigious reserves of dry extract, racy acids and a long, saline finish...

93Vinous / IWC

...very composed bouquet with slivers of fresh Conference pear, smoke and flint, a hint of saffron...palate is supremely well-balanced with a tangy entry...fresh and vibrant with a strict and energy-driven finish, a dash of spice and stem ginger emerging on the aftertaste and leaving the mouth tingling. Superb.

18.5Jancis Robinson

...riper, richer, more full-bodied, but still has fabulous length and tension with a long, salty finish to balance the fruit intensity. Incredible length.

REGION

France, Burgundy, Chablis, Les Clos

Les Clos is a 61-acre Grand Cru vineyard in the appellation of Chablis, at the northwestern tip of Burgundy. With rocky soil, good drainage, and a southerly orientation, the vineyard is generally the most acclaimed of the Chablis Grand Crus. The principal landholders are Fevre with 10.38 acres; J. Moreau, with 9.01 acres; and C. Moreau, with 9 acres. Other notable producers with parcels in Les Clos are Francois Raveneau, Louis Pinson, Joseph Drouhin and Rene Dauvissat. Like all the Chablis vineyards, it is planted exclusively to Chardonnay.

TYPE

White Wine, Chardonnay, Chablis Grand Cru

This white variety originated in Burgundy, but is now grown around the world. Its flexibility to thrive in many regions translates to wide flavor profile in the market. Chardonnay is commonly used in making Champagne and sparkling wines.
