Expect Transit Delays

Transit times and delivery dates are estimates only. Continued impacts related to COVID-19 are resulting in nationwide transit delays and carriers (FedEx, UPS, and other local couriers) are not refunding if delivery is delayed. Please plan on extended transit times and schedule accordingly.


Shipment & Pick Up Basics

Customers are solely responsible for shipping their wines. Rates, transit times, and methods available are subject to change at any time without prior notice. Please use our Shipping Calculator to view your current options.

  • Wine must be shipped to adults aged 21 years or older and cannot be shipped to P.O. boxes or left on premises without a signature – it’s the law.

  • We strongly recommend shipping to a commercial address, or an address where an adult is always present, to ensure delivery on the first attempt.

  • For the security of your wine, stored items cannot be combined across multiple accounts for consolidated shipping.

Please allow 24 business hours advanced notice for shipping or pick up requests. If your request needs immediate attention, please call customer service to arrange shipment or pick up Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm at (877) 848-1828.

Customers are welcome to schedule curbside pick up at our Napa facility Monday through Friday, 9am–5pm (excluding major holidays). Schedule shipping or pick up dates online directly from your Shipping & Storage page.

Shipping Options

Shipping availability is based on regulation at your destination. Global Storage Network (GSN) partners with multiple carriers to offer convenient, cost-effective options for you to ship your wines to as many locations as possible. Use our Shipping Calculator to see current options.

By scheduling a ship date directly from your account, you will use shipping services contracted and billed by GSN. This authorizes us to pack your shipment in custom Styrofoam shippers, release them to the carrier, and bill your payment method directly. Invoice and tracking emails are automatically sent to your email address on file.

For locations where these contracted shipping services aren’t available or don’t meet your needs, you are welcome to use the services of outside carriers instead. A list of local third-party wine shipping companies is below. These are companies our customers work with regularly and who pick up from our storage facility on a weekly basis.

Customer Pick Ups

Curbside pick up at our Napa location is available Monday through Friday, 9am–5pm (excluding major holidays). Appointments are required for curbside pick up, and drop-ins cannot be accommodated. Curbside pick up appointments are scheduled from your Shipping & Storage page.

Please allow 24 hours’ advanced notice as we cannot accommodate will-call requests. You’re welcome to authorize someone else to pick up on your behalf when scheduling online. Parties picking up on your behalf must be over 21 and will need to show a valid photo ID to retrieve your order. Orders that are not picked up as scheduled are subject to a restocking fee.

Billing

Shipping & handling charges are billed by GSN to your payment method on file on your ship date only. Shipping fees are always pre-authorized to the payment method on file on your ship date and may result in you receiving a notification from your PayPal or credit card. Pre-authorizations ensure we can process your order on the scheduled date and provide you an opportunity to update your payment method in the event of a declined charge. Shipping fees are finalized and billed at the end of business day (US Pacific Time) on your ship date and will be included in the shipping notification email you receive.

Shipping rates begin at approximately $20 per box. Pick ups are packed in complimentary cardboard boxes free of charge. Large format packaging, requests to pick up in Styrofoam shippers, or palletized orders as required by outside carriers may be subject to additional charges.

Weather

We want your shipping experience to be as customizable as possible, but we care about your wines. For that reason, your shipments will not be released in extreme weather unless you specifically provide your permission to do so.

Most customers choose to ship weather permitting, which means wine shipments are not released until temperatures are between 20°F and 80°F at our Napa, CA warehouse on your ship date and at your shipping destination on your estimated delivery date. Ship dates scheduled when weather does not permit will automatically be canceled.

If you would like to ship your wine as quickly as possible no matter the weather, select ship regardless of the weather when scheduling your ship date online. This means you understand that the risks of shipping wine in hot or cold weather include fresh seepage, elevated or depressed corks, and more. You elect to waive GSN’s weather policy and ship your wines regardless of the weather, accepting that no claims can be made on the condition of the wines upon delivery.

Depending on your location, expedited and temperature-controlled shipping methods may be available. Ice-pack shipper boxes are available upon request in 6-pack and 12-pack sizes for 750ml or smaller sized bottles upon request. Large format, extra wide, and oddly shaped bottles are not eligible. Rates vary so please contact GSN Customer Service directly to discuss your options. 

Original Wine Cases (OWC)

Original wine cases can be stored in addition to your wines. These may be wood, cardboard, plastic, or metal. These cases ship separately from your wines so the bottles can be packed in custom Styrofoam shippers for their protection. A separate charge will apply to these shipments. Because they’re not temperature sensitive, they can be shipped at any time.
