Knez Winery was established in 2007 when Peter Knez, a veteran of the financial industry, purchased noteworthy vineyards in Anderson Valley, which were the Cerise Vineyard and, a year later, the Demuth Vineyard. Those acquisitions were followed by the purchase of a six-acre vineyard located between the Cerise and Demuth parcels, bringing the total to 59 acres. Anthony Filiberti, formerly of Anthill Farms and Williams-Selyem, is winemaker. Knez produces a limited amount of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah. The wines have earned compliments from reviewers and ratings in the low- to mid-90s.
