Hugues Godme

Champagne Hugues Godmé was created when Hugues Godmé and his sister divided up their father’s much-admired estate based in Verzenay. Hugues’ 18.5 acres of 40 tiny parcels is spread throughout five villages in the Montagne de Reims region. The estate grows all the appellation’s grapes, which are Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier. Godmé makes a range of Champagnes from non-vintage to Blanc de Noirs and vintage Grand Cru. The estate has been certified as biodynamic since 2010. Vinous has noted that the estate’s Champagnes are “layered, yet they have a lightness that is quite appealing…(the wines) merit serious attention.”
