Okonomierat Rebholz has been in the Rebholz family for more than a century. Located in the Pfalz appellation, the 55-acre estate is certified as organic and produces 10,000 cases annually. Riesling accounts for 40 percent of the production, followed by Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris. Owner/winemaker Hans-Jorg Rebholz was chosen Winemaker of the Year in 2002 by Gault-Millau, and Gault-Millau awarded the estate Collection of the Year in 2013. The estate’s wines often win ratings in the mid-90s. Wine Advocate has frequently complimented the wines, noting that the estate’s Gewürztraminers, for instance, have an extraordinary “finesse (that) is even rare in Alsace, where the world's finest Gewürztraminers on planet wine are made…”
