...this is tightly wound, with firm tannins and good spicy currant, plum and cherry flavors that slowly come shining through the tannic veil. This deeply concentrated wine has lots of pretty oak to show off, too.

91Robert M. Parker Jr.

This intense, ripe, full-bodied wine possesses explosive richness, lavish pain grille notes, low acidity, and a heady, lusty, super-long finish. Yes, the new oak is high, but so is the wine's extract and fruit concentration.

St. Francis Winery & Vineyards is in Sonoma County. It was founded in 1971 by Joe Martin who planted 22 acres of Chardonnay and 60 acres of Merlot. Today the estate is part of the Kobrand conglomerate of wine and spirits companies. St. Francis now owns more than 415 acres in several appellations, including Sonoma and the Russian River Valley. Red Wine, Cabernet Sauvignon

One of the most widely grown grape varieties, it can be found in nearly every wine growing region. A cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. It’s a hardy vine that produces a full-bodied wine with high tannins and great aging potential.
