93Wine Enthusiast

Packed with the dark tannins and structure of Cabernet Sauvignon...intense, concentrated and dark. It has a firm structure, solid and with a luscious aftertaste.

92James Suckling

...self-confident, modern St.-Estèphe with a lot of ripe black fruits...quite bold and generous, but cool and fresh on the finish. Love the spice!

91Jeb Dunnuck

...incredibly classic notes of dark fruits, earthy minerality, graphite, and tobacco. This is followed by a medium-bodied Saint Estèphe that has terrific balance and sweet tannins...

90Wine Spectator

...fresh, pure style, with an unadorned beam of cassis acting as the main component, while light white pepper, lilac and iron hints fill in the background. Racy finish.

90Vinous / IWC

...wonderful bouquet, very well-defined with blackberry, bilberry and cedar aromas; focused and vivacious. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a fine line of acidity, quite approachable in style with a caressing raspberry and crushed strawberry finish.

17.5Jancis Robinson

Very suave and sophisticated nose. Very juicy fruit and vibrant. Great attack and even a little hint of hot mustard on the palate! Not heavy. Great vitality.

France, Bordeaux, St.-Estephe

Saint-Estèphe is in the northern Médoc, on the left bank of the Gironde River. Although it has no First Growth estates, its five Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth Growth châteaux are notable, and, in recent decades, have become favorites with reviewers and consumers. Some reviewers also note that the appellation is today making excellent Cru Bourgeois wines, which frequently offer good value. There are 3,404 acres of vineyards and a variety of soil types, from gravelly soil to soil with significant sand or clay. The two Second Growth Châteaux in St.-Estephe are Cos d’Estournel and Montrose. The Third Growth Calon-Ségur is widely admired. The principal grapes grown are Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
