96Stephen Tanzer

Fabulous, noble aromas of black cherry, black raspberry, flowers, minerals and sappy oak. Juicy black fruit flavors of extraordinary intensity...

93Robert M. Parker Jr.

This wine is also inky black-colored but its tightly wound blackberry, cassis, and mint scents are quite different from the Clos Vougeot's. Super-ripe cherries, black raspberries, and cassis are drenched in copious quantities of fat...

...earthy, black, spicy fruit and flavors that deliver more earth and distinct chocolate notes.

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
