RATINGS

94Jeb Dunnuck

...beautiful perfume of black raspberry and tart mulberry fruit supported by ample underbrush, forest floor, and even a hint of marine-like minerality...medium-bodied on the palate, it plays in the more elegant, seamless end of the spectrum, with light tannins and a beautiful finish.

93Wine Enthusiast

...opens in rose petal, lavender and forest, the acidity high-toned and accentuating layers of citrus and rhubarb. Structured and complex, with an intensity that persists, it finds its way to a silky texture that rewards.

92James Suckling

...nose of red plums, raspberries, redcurrants, chalk and flowers. It’s medium-to full-bodied with ripe tannins. Silky and creamy in the mouth with sweet fruit and spices at the finish. Flavorful and balanced.

REGION

United States, California, Sonoma, Sonoma Coast

Sonoma Coast AVA runs from San Pablo Bay in the south to Mendocino County in the north. It includes 7,000 vineyard acres and earned AVA status in 1987. Its proximity to the Pacific Ocean means it gets double the rainfall of nearby inland appellations and the ocean gives the appellation a relatively cool climate. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir can thrive in these conditions, and there are numerous producers making critically acclaimed Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
