97Jeb Dunnuck

...bouquet of darker currant and berry fruits intermixed with lots of foresty conifer tree, tobacco, bay leaf, and mountain scrub brush-like nuances...full-bodied beauty has a wonderfully textured, elegant mouthfeel, a stacked mid-palate, and a great finish.

96+ Vinous / IWC

Silky, aromatic and gracious, yet with plenty of richness, the Spring Mountain is a wine of pure and total allure. Dark red fruit, mocha and soft floral notes all grace this silky, impeccable Cabernet from Amici.

95The Wine Advocate

...scents of redcurrant jelly, black raspberries and cassis with hints of wild sage, violets and Marmite toast. Medium to full-bodied, it has a firm, rugged texture and plenty of freshness to support the muscular black fruit, delivering a long, earthy finish.

95James Suckling

Lots of pine needle, bark and conifer, as well as blackberry and blueberry. It’s full-bodied with a balance of creamy tannins that are polished and together.

United States, California, Napa Valley, Spring Mountain District

Spring Mountain AVA is above the town of St. Helena on the eastern slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains. There is no actual Spring Mountain, but the name has traditionally been used for the area, which includes many streams and springs. Spring Mountain was awarded appellation status in 1993 and it includes about 1,000 vineyard acres. Vineyard elevations are high, from 400 to 2,600 feet above sea level. Because of the altitude of most vineyards, which are above the fog line, mornings become warm earlier than vineyards on the valley floor, though the afternoons are cooled by maritime winds. The result is an exceptionally long growing season. Cabernet Sauvignon is the most frequently planted grape by acreage, followed by Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay.

Red Wine, Cabernet Sauvignon

One of the most widely grown grape varieties, it can be found in nearly every wine growing region. A cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. It’s a hardy vine that produces a full-bodied wine with high tannins and great aging potential.
