Honey and baked apple flavors are the main themes, with a touch of butter and grapefruit. Starts creamy and ends lean and focused.
Aromas of mirabelle, soft citrus fruit and wild herbs. Juicy, dry...showing a strong smoky, stony minerality... Finishes broad and resounding, with a strong wet stone character.
Very mild reduction does not significantly detract from the pretty combination of citrus rind, spiced pear and dried floral aromas. There is really lovely detail to the rounded, intense and attractively dry flavors that possess fine transparency on the clean, energetic and persistent finish.
The palate is medium-bodied with crisp, quite angular tannin. This is an edgy, almost Muscadet-like Chassagne with a strong marine/saline element dominating the finish.
Quite broad and evolved on the nose. Some hint of butterscotch and acidity... Quite chewy on the finish... Lightly chalky notes.
