...scents of white flowers joining the citrus fruit and walnut notes...palate is smooth and quite rounded on the entry, a brush of honey here both in terms of flavor and texture, that walnut note continuing and a fumé-like finish that lingers nicely in the mouth.
Les Murgers des Dents de Chien is a 39.5-acre Premier Cru vineyard in the Saint-Aubin appellation, in Burgundy’s Cote de Beaune. Saint-Aubin has no Grand Crus, but there are 29 Premier Crus planted to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Les Murgers des Dents de Chien is on the eastern edge of the appellation and borders Puligny-Montrachet. Wine writers note that although the appellation of Saint-Aubin was in the past typically not given much attention by wine collectors, in recent decades it has been increasingly noted for the high quality of its wines.
This white variety originated in Burgundy, but is now grown around the world. Its flexibility to thrive in many regions translates to wide flavor profile in the market. Chardonnay is commonly used in making Champagne and sparkling wines.
