92-94The Wine Advocate

...a wonderfully savory nose of chargrilled meats, dried herbs and Marmite toast with a core of baked plums, blackberry preserves and dark chocolate. Full-bodied, the palate is laden with vibrant black and blue fruits plus loads of savory sparks and a plush texture, finishing with a refreshing lift.

92-93James Suckling

This is so delicious already with wonderful, tight and polished tannins, medium body and a long, flavorful finish.

91-93Jeb Dunnuck

...smoky, earthy bouquet of black fruits and tobacco. It’s ripe and sexy on the palate, with medium to full-bodied richness, terrific purity, and ripe tannins. It has some serious oomph and richness yet is beautifully balanced as well.

15.5Jancis Robinson

Ripe and rocky/stony at the same time. On the palate, very ripe, more like jammy damsons, though the firm and smooth texture helps to balance all that ripeness.

France, Bordeaux, Fronsac

Fronsac is a small appellation northwest of Saint-Émilion. Fronsac produces only red wines and has about 2,000 vineyard acres. Canon-Fronsac is a smaller appellation within Fronsac. Merlot is the primary grape in Fronsac, followed by Cabernet Franc Cabernet Sauvignon. Fronsac wines are generally full-bodied and plummy. In the 18th and 19th centuries Fronsac wines had the same prestige as the wines of St.-Émilion, though by the mid-20th century Fronsac wines were less renowned. Today, however, young and innovative older winemakers are reviving traditional estates. Some have gone the garagiste route by making non-historic blends.
