RATINGS

94-96The Wine Advocate

...an incipiently complex bouquet of citrus oil, Anjou pear, hazelnut cream, wet stones and a subtly framing of smoky reduction. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, deep and incisive, with amplitude and concentration...

93James Suckling

A classically vibrant and intense Meursault with fine citrus, stones and bright, ripe peaches, leading to a very assertive and concentrated palate with great richness and acidity, driving long and deep. The power here is exceptional.

91-94Burghound.com

...strikingly layered nose that combines notes of acacia and citrus zest with those of iodine and mineral reduction. The racy but rich medium weight flavors are intensely mineral-inflected...balanced and sneaky long finish.

REGION

France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, Côte de Beaune, Meursault, Les Perrieres

Les Perrieres is 34-acre Premier Cru vineyard in Meursault, in Burgundy’s Cote de Beaune. The vineyard includes several sub parcels. They are the 2.4-acre monopole Clos des Perrieres, which belongs to Domaine Albert Grivault, and Les Perrieres Dessous. Because Les Perrieres is in southern Meursault next to Puligny, the Les Perrieres Meursaults are considered to have more minerality than other Meursaults. Burgundy writer Clive Coates has noted that “Perrieres is perhaps the most elegant and persistent of the premier crus. At its best, it is positively brilliant…” Since Meursault lacks a Grand Cru, Meursault’s reputation for excellence is based on the Premier Crus, particularly the whites.

TYPE

White Wine, Chardonnay, 1er (Premier) Cru

This white variety originated in Burgundy, but is now grown around the world. Its flexibility to thrive in many regions translates to wide flavor profile in the market. Chardonnay is commonly used in making Champagne and sparkling wines.
