RATINGS

95The Wine Advocate

...notions of peaches, pink grapefruit and green guava with hints of toasted almonds, chalk dust, coriander seed and baker's yeast. Medium-bodied with a racy backbone cutting through the silken texture, it delivers a wonderful intensity of citrus, tropical and savory flavors, finishing long and layered.

95James Suckling

...tons of cloves, vanilla and spices...so much fruit in the form of ripe peaches, papaya, citrus rind, preserved lemons and whipped cream. Full-bodied with so much dense yet tangy tropical fruit in the form of pineapple and guava flavors. Sweeping acidity and a long, intense finish...pack a punch.

94Vinous / IWC

An intensely perfumed bouquet evokes mineral-accented pear, orange zest and jasmine scents... Energetic, sharply focused citrus and orchard fruit flavors stain the palate...sexy floral nuance emerges steadily as the wine opens up, as do hints of saffron and toasted brioche. Impressively concentrated...the long, focused finish features lingering floral and mineral notes.

94Wine Enthusiast

This succulent wine is saturated with rich citrus flavors. Grapefruit, lemon, lime and pineapple notes combine while its 18 months in barrel contributes a layer of buttery toast.

90Wine Spectator

Like biting into a crisp apple, with accents of cream, Asian pear and spice, finishing on a vibrant note.

REGION

United States, Oregon, Willamette Valley

Willamette Valley AVA was established in 1983, and it is the oldest appellation in Oregon. Oregon’s modern wine industry began in the Willamette Valley in the 1960s when artists, vagabond winemakers, and U.C. Davis oenology graduates looking for new territory started their own, small, off-the-grid wineries. The appellation is the state’s largest, and it extends 175 miles from Columbia River on the Washington/Oregon border to just south of Eugene, near central Oregon. The Willamette River runs through the area, helping to give the appellation a mild year-round climate. There are six smaller sub-appellations within this AVA, but altogether the Willamette Valley has the largest concentration of wineries in Oregon, as well as the majority of the state’s most famous producers. Pinot Noir is king here, followed by Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Riesling. To most admirers of Oregon Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley offers the most distinctive wine choices in the state.

TYPE

White Wine, Chardonnay
