95Wine Enthusiast

Soft and spicy in cinnamon, clove and cocoa powder, this wine is herbal as well, dotted in dried herb and sage. Full bodied, concentrated and complex, it has an enviable firmness of tannin and structure...

94James Suckling

...linear wine with a medium body. Delicate chocolate, cedar and mushroom character. Subtle and delicious.

94Jeb Dunnuck

...offers more red fruits, spice, and flowery incense notes as well as medium to full body, a pretty, complex, elegant style, ripe tannins, and a great finish.

93Vinous / IWC

...very pretty wine. Succulent red cherry, plum, mint, wild flowers and spice give the 2017 terrific freshness and aromatic lift that suit its mid-weight frame nicely... offers good bit of refinement - not to mention a ton of class.

92Wine Spectator

Ripe and muscular in style, with red and black currant preserve flavors leading the way, flanked by hints of loam and singed cedar, all finishing in unison, bolstered by an extra wave of bittersweet chocolate.

91The Wine Advocate

...sings of crushed blackberries, warm cassis and mulberries with suggestions of chargrill, violets, fragrant earth and fungi plus a waft of oolong tea. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers a fair bit of textured chew with a wicked backbone of freshness and lots of black and blue fruit lingering on the finish.

United States, California, Napa Valley, Oak Knoll

Oak Knoll AVA is one of Napa Valley’s newest appellations, having received that status in 2004. Located on the southern end of Napa Valley, the appellation is close to San Pablo Bay and therefore relatively cool. Of the 8,300 acres within the appellation, 4,150 are vineyards. The principal grapes grown are Merlot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Riesling. Locals like to call Oak Knoll “the sweet spot” thanks to its location between the San Pablo Bay and its maritime climate and the much hotter climate of Napa Valley’s floor.

Red Wine, Cabernet Sauvignon

One of the most widely grown grape varieties, it can be found in nearly every wine growing region. A cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. It’s a hardy vine that produces a full-bodied wine with high tannins and great aging potential.
