RATINGS

92+ Stephen Tanzer

Reticent but complex nose combines minerals, licorice, leather, mocha and chocolate, with lovely floral lift. Suave and aromatic in the mouth. Finishes very long and firmly tannic.

PRODUCER

Laurel Glen

Laurel Glen Vineyard is in Glen Ellen, in the Sonoma appellation. It was a vineyard in the late 19th century when German immigrants began growing grapes, but it was replanted exclusively to Cabernet Sauvignon in 1968. In 1977 Patrick Campbell purchased the property. Today the winemaker is Randall Watkins and the estate makes Cabernet Sauvignon and Rose.

TYPE

Red Wine, Cabernet Sauvignon

One of the most widely grown grape varieties, it can be found in nearly every wine growing region. A cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. It’s a hardy vine that produces a full-bodied wine with high tannins and great aging potential.
