RATINGS

93Wine Spectator

Dark and spicy, exuding black cherry, black currant, violet, smoke and spice aromas and flavors. There's a sweetness midpalate, with the structure supporting the fruit.

93-95Vinous / IWC

...flows across the palate with layers of expressive, nuanced fruit. In 2012, the Vaucrains is totally racy, supple and stunning in its beauty.

92+ Stephen Tanzer

Medicinal aromas of blackberry, black cherry, licorice and spicy oak. Juicy on entry, then youthfully imploded in the middle, showing very primary flavors of black fruits and licorice pastille.

92-94Burghound.com

A brooding and all but inexpressive nose reflects notes of earthy dark berries, sauvage and humus nuances.

91-93The Wine Advocate

The palate has a supple effervescent entry, with orange peel and marmalade, and fine weight on the finish.

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir, 1er (Premier) Cru

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
