Estimate
Rich, ripe aromas of peach, honey and marzipan. Broad, opulent and full; a big, sweet, open wine with impressive volume. ...offers a classic example of the creamy side of this attractive vintage.
This is impressively dense but strikes me as slightly dampened-down and hardened by sulfuring and bottling – Lardiere reports that it was much more supple and expressive in barrel. There is good grip, nutty, low-toned richness, and chalk to the finish.
A spicy, exotic and seductive nose that is wonderfully enveloping is in perfect keeping with the equally seductive, ripe, pure and textured flavors that possess a discreet minerality and superb length. This is very Genevrières and finishes with a notably dry and lengthy backend.
