Black raspberries, black cherry, crushed flowers, earthy notes and even a hint of truffle all emerge from this beautifully proportioned, layered, medium-bodied and silky textured beauty. Showing the core of sweet fruit that's the hallmark of this appellation, it has fine, yet present tannin, good acidity and more and more of the classic...vineyard minerality showing on the finish.
Heady, floral- and spice-accented aromas of ripe red and dark berries, vanilla and incense, lifted by a smoky mineral quality. Sappy, impressively deep and pure, offering alluringly sweet black raspberry, cherry cola, and candied rose flavors and a hint of star anise that builds in the glass. The floral and vanilla notes come back emphatically on the finish, which hangs on with superb tenacity and lingering sweetness.
Offers notes of baking spices, with dusty, loamy tannins and a generous core of wild berry and raspberry flavors. The tannins on the finish impart a sandy texture and good length.
...black-cherry liqueur aromas. Sweet oak influence, semi-firm tannins that leave a furry coating on the palate. Extrovert and attention-grabbing. A world away from the subtle Syrah style – yet there is nuance and elegance on the length.
